Hurricane Utah

We are now in Hurricane Utah for a month.  Hurricane is just east of St. George, Utah and has some of the best ATV trails in the United States.  People come from all over the US to ride here.  There are several of the Missionaries that served with us up at Heber Valley Camp that live here or are staying here for the winter.  We went on an ATV ride with some of them.  It was very cold but a beautiful day.  We started the run at about 10am at about 35 degrees.  As we ended the day at about 5pm at a whopping 45 degrees.  It fact is was so cold that Carol oped not to go on the run because of the problems she is having with her hands when they get cold.  Here are some photos of the run.

We trailered  the ATVs about 40 miles from our campground to the start of the trail.

This trail crosses the Virgin River 28 times. 

Some of the banks coming out of the river were very steep and rutted.  Get into the rut and this is what happens.

This ATV trail goes through parts of Zion National Park that most people would never see.

Ouch!

There is a little restaurant at the end of the run where we had lunch before returning.  

A likely story I'm sure.

This was a very scenic 45 mile round trip trail that is used in the Annual Tri-State ATV Jamboree held in March of each year.  People from all over the world come here to participate in this event.  We are looking forward to exploring many more of these type of trails while we are here for the month.
