Mutual Dell Update

We have now been at Mutual Dell Camp for two months now.  Wow how the time flies.  It is our 2nd year here now and our fourth consecutive year serving Missions for our Church. What an honor and privilege it is to serve the Lord.  Here are some pictures of our camp and activities.

Girls camp finely started.  Here are some doing the life line confidence course. 

They are blind folded and muted while they try to navigate through a course around trees following a rope or Life Line. 

They have obstacles both high and low along the way.  They also have to make choices at intersections as to which way to go. At the end, we reflect and put a spiritual twist on the adventure and relate it to real life adventures and thoughts.

They have to use teamwork to get everyone up and over the wall in a given time period depending on how big the group is.

They have to make it through a hole in the spider web without touching it.  That hole is then pined and cannot be used again during the game.

We had a bad wind storm and some trees blew down.  This one fell across a camp table in one of the youth camps.  Luck for all, the girls were not in camp at the time.

Here are some of the improvements and updates since we have been up here.

First major improvement was to make and install a radio box outside of the office.

This allows us to be outside in the camp and still give our patrons access to a Missionary when they need them.

 All they have to do is open the box and pull out the mic and push to talk to the Camp Host Missionary on duty.  We rotate the assignment each day.

This is the inside of the office where I have a radio that sits in a charger and has the outside microphone plugged into it.  We put this radio on it's own channel and the Missionary who has the Camp Host assignment has to ware a extra radio in addition to the regular camp radio so that he can monitor the separate channel.  This radio is monitored 24 hours a day.  If someone needs some assistance for any reason, they would call the Camp Host.  If the Camp Host can't handle the problem on his own, he would call another Missionary to handle it.  This way everyone doesn't have to be bothered or woken up in the middle of the night.  This system has worked out very well for us so far.

 The Church owns a section of land that had four baseball fields on it.  It was not getting much use anymore so the Church decided to sell the land.  We were given the opportunity to remove the speakers and the Public Address System along with a set of nice bleachers.  Above you can see two of the four sets of speakers we scored from the building.

These are just some of the improvements we made here at Mutual Dell Camp this year.  We a continuing to improve the camp any way we can to make it the best it can be for the Young Women and Families that use it.
