We left Orlando Florida on Monday, December 26th en route for San Diego California, and stopped in Gainsville Florida to see Carol's Aunt and Uncle. We had dinner with them and spent about five hours with them and then hit the road again and spent the night in Tallahassee Florida. The next morning we hit the road en route for the Baton Rouge Temple. We did a noon session and was back on the road again about three o'clock. We stopped for the night in Slidell Louisiana. We were about 34 miles from New Orleans so we took a drive into the city that evening. The next day we drove to Beaumont Texas and spent the night in the local Walmart. That left Thursday morning for an easy drive into Lake Conroe Texas where we will be until January 2, 2012.
Our site at Lake Conroe, TX.
This is the worst drought Texas has ever experienced and looking at these pictures of the docks standing on dry land you can really see how low the water level is. It is so sad to see in person.
Our next planned stop is San Antonio Texas on January 2, 2012.

Whew! Maybe you need to hire a greyhound bus driver to do all that driving.
