Hello North Carolina!

We are now in the western part of North Carolina near Asheville.  We are camped in a small five space campground nestled into a valley with beautiful fall colored trees every way you look.
We took a day trip up into the Smokey Mountains and here are some pictures of the area.
Some of these pictures are also take along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Like Tennessee, North Carolina has been gorgeous. We are so blessed to see this in person. We have always traveled for our vacations from San Diego in the motor home. We love October and always took a vacation in that month somewhere. One year we visited the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The fall colors were like nothing we had ever seen. They were so vibrant and beautiful, or so we thought. This place puts that to shame. We had no idea there were so many colors a tree could produce until now.

We are under a wind advisory for the next twelve hours.  The local news reported very high winds in the mountains.  They expressed concerns that even though the fall color season doesn't peek for another week, the winds could be strong enough to blow off many of the leaves.  We have our fingers crossed that it won't happen.  We will be in this area for one full month.
