Tropic Winds Resort, Harlingen Texas

We are now in Harlingen Texas.  Harlingen is located in the South East part of Texas just miles from the Mexican Border.  It is about 30 miles from Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico and about 30 miles to my Uncle Rens and Aunt Josie's house in Alamo Texas.
Tropic Winds RV Resort where we are staying.

This is the Iwo Jima Memorial.  This is the original.  The replica is in Washington DC.

Pictures of Padre Island. The above pictures are after Spring Break in Texas.

Here is a picture of Padre Island during Spring Break in Texas. Can you find us in the picture?

We went horse back riding on the beach while we were on Padre Island.
Getty up cowgirl!
Roy Rogers and Annie Oakley!

Sea turtles.
The Cactus are blooming like crazy!

Here are some pictures of my Uncle Ren and Aunt Josie.  We had such a good time with them.  We will miss them so much, but we won't miss the high humidity in southern Texas or the wind.  The temperatures here were in the low to mid 90s with sometimes as much as 100 % humidity during the day and in the low 70s at night always with 100% humidity.  I can take the temperatures with no problem but it's the humidity that kills me.  I am also not a fan of wind.  The day we departed here the winds were sustained at 20MPH with gusts to 60+ MPH.  We were blessed the first 100 miles of our trip toward San Antonio with a tail wind.  The next 75 miles with a head wind and the last 70 miles with a side wind.  Oh well, at least it wasn't head winds all the way to San Antonio.  We will be in San Antonio for the next few days, then off to Lake Whitney.
